Morning, Ilkeston! We've got some news about a much-loved ash tree at the junction of Nicholas Close and Cavendish Road. It's unfortunately fallen into decline, and after notice from Derbyshire County Council Highways, plans are in motion to remove it and give it a new neighbour – a lovely oak!
Ash (Fraxinus excelsior) tree adjacent to the junction of Nicholas Close and Cavendish Road Ilkeston, marked T3 (DC5 TPO 367) on Erewash plans or T12 on our survey plans. Tree is in severe decline due to Hymenoscyphus fraxineus and we have been sent notice by Derbyshire County Council Highways to remove and replant. We would like to remove this Ash tree and replace with a standard Oak (Quercus robur) in the next planting season.
